FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Competition
results - March 2008
Brentwood Trampoline Club's performers were in celebratory mood as March drew
to a close reflecting on a stunning month of achievement. Performers at all
levels excelled with wins in all grades from 6 to 1 in Bournemouth (grade 1 &
2), Brentwood (grades 3 to 6) & Hull (grade 1 & 2). With 31 entries in these
competitions the clubs members amassed an amazing haul of 10 winners trophies, 9
second-placed trophies, 4 in 3rd place and a further 4 making up winning teams -
in all nearly 90% of those representing Brentwood went home from their
competition(s) with a trophy or medal!
Gala Weekends
The Bournemouth competitions saw Scott Gregory winning the European Trial &
Stephen Page winning grade 1, Hannah McCann winning grade 1 validation and
Anthony Williams coming 2nd in grade 2. Matt Wright, Gemma Phillips & Natasha
Holme also achieved qualifying scores. Hull saw further progress at the top of
the club with Kensie Sherlock & Hannah McCann both winning their grade 2 groups
by a substantial margin, Scott Gregory winning in the men's synchronised
trampoline (with partner Steven Williams from Liverpool) and Gemma Philips and
Natasha Holme making further progress with Natasha reaching the finals round.
Brentwood Grading
The Brentwood competition was a regional grading being hosted by Brentwood
Trampoline Club and having been scheduled by British Gymnastics to be on Easter
Sunday represented a challenge to many members to leave the eggs alone until
after they had competed! With well over 200 performers being welcomed to
Brentwood the competition ran smoothly and to time thanks to many of the club's
members' and parents' help. This team effort was rewarded with individual wins
for Heidi Bartlett, Abbie Goldsmith, Anna Reite & Georgia Tyrrell, second places
for Mark Hardiman, Harriet Gill, Kallum Sherlock, Lauren Wylie, Sophie Banks,
Charlotte Toms & Kendra Sherlock, third places for Harry Gannon, Rebecca Martin,
Charlotte Hussey & Tegan Roycroft with team medals also for Emma Martin, Alice
Hussey, Megan Gannon and Lauren Bembrick-Taylor.
Depth of Ability
Speaking afterwards Brentwood Trampoline Club's Head Coach Paul Kitchen said
"This has been a brilliant month for the club showing real depth of ability and
was a just reward for the hard work these performers put in when training. As a
club we have been focussing for some time now on form beyond all else and with a
recent re-organisation we have been able to redouble our efforts in this regard
and also open up spaces to new members of all ability levels as some of our
older teenage members have taken up coaching roles in the club."
