Brentwood Trampoline Club has been registered under the Data Protection Act (1998) for the retention of personal records relevant to administration of members and others engaged with the Club's activities.

The Act requires that anyone who processes personal information must comply with eight principles, which make sure that personal information is:

Our Approach
Fairly and lawfully processed; We use all reasonable endeavours to ensure this is the case.
Processed for limited purposes; The records we maintain are used for billing, registration and other administrative matters relevant to competitive trampolining.
Adequate, relevant and not excessive; If we ever find we are retaining data for which we have no reasonable use we will delete it.  At present this is not the case.
Accurate and up to date; We issue periodic questionnaires to validate current data.  Members' co-operation in this area is paramount, however, please do ensure you inform us of changes of personal details, medical records etc...
Not kept for longer than is necessary; No expired data is retained purposely.  All current members' data are retained in latest form, ex-members' data are only retained for as long as we or they might reasonably expect to raise a query.
Processed in line with your rights; We use all reasonable endeavours to ensure this is the case.
Secure; Electronic data is mainly held in spreadsheet form with only those having a specific need to know having access to the spreadsheet.  Paper copies of certain data are used at training sessions and these are kept securely when not in use.
Not transferred to other countries without adequate protection. All data remains in the UK at all times.

The Act also provides individuals with important rights, including the right to find out what personal information is held on computer and most paper records.  Should anybody engaged with the club wish to see their record they are entitled to do so although a small administration charge may be raised depending on the format the information is required to be supplied in.
